March Activities at The Living Center

2 minutes estimated reading time

We’re so glad that spring is finally upon us at The Living Center! As the sun shines outside and the weather grows warmer, the smiles on our faces shine a little bit brighter! Speaking of smiles, nothing makes for good memories like our monthly activities! Here’s what we’ve been up to in March:

We started March off with a competitive game of UNO, which we host weekly. We also played a plethora of other card games, like Phase 10. Card games are known to help improve short-term recall and cognitive performance. And these activities are a great way to get involved in our little community here at The Living Center!

We also care for our seniors by hosting a “Color and Converse activity.” During this time, participants are prompted by a question they are asked to respond to in writing or conversation. For example, a question asked this month was: “Who do you most admire and why?” We also have fun with coloring books while we talk. It’s a great way to spark conversation, reflect, and relax!

Lastly, March brought us some awesome visitors! “Letty,” the Bernese Mountain Dog, visited us weekly with her friend Cheryl to bring some more smiles to The Living Center. We’ll never say no to a visit from our furry friends, our guitarist friend, and singer John Brenneman! We had a great time listening to his wonderful country and folk tunes.

Thanks for reading all about our March activities! While we love having fun, we also value our seniors’ mental, physical, and emotional health at our senior living apartments. This is why our activities are designed to stimulate all three of these areas. If you’d like to learn more about additional programs and features, please check out our website, and check back in April to see what we’re up to!
